The main target of the project is; to provide a rapid and easily applicable transformation process without prejudice to the dynamics of the city, prioritizing the economic, ecological and social components in a simultaneous and balanced manner with a participatory transformation model. The area under the project has a well-organized planned space characteristic in the neighborhood group scale, despite the economic and physical loss of value. The sustainability of this scale is one of the basic assumptions of design. On the other hand, the function clusters envisaged in the development plan for the area are also determinative in the design setting. The continuity of traces of the existing neighborhood group also allows the preservation of landscape inputs.
The main project of the project is a mixed function project that includes a set of public facilities at the center of gravity, a linear trade corridor at Tuğsavul Street and Setboyu Street line. There are neighborhood groups consisting of blocks along the 30th August Street. The proximity of the project to the city center, its location in the center of gravity, the accessibility and the diversity of functions are the most important potentials.
In principle, a pedestrian-friendly design philosophy has been adopted throughout the project. Vehicle traffic and circulation in the area, car park entry and exit points and temporary parking possibilities have been pushed into the roof and a vehicle transportation scheme that feeds the area from outside is adopted. Yesari Asim Street connects the two parallel vehicle roads surrounding the area from the geometric midpoint.
The commercial function corridor is planned as a shopping street with continuity on the ground and lower ground floors which will contribute to the number of commercial units. The double-tiered 'Shopping Street' has turned into a 'Market' typology with its introverted and pedestrian use. Continuous access is provided from the galleries located at the ground level to the lower ground level with escalators and elevators. The shopping street meets the urban open and green areas at the start and end points. Especially in the Sarıçay belt, the recreation area which is accepted as an extension of the project area is reached from the lower and upper levels of the street. In this way, pedestrian movements are not interrupted; bypassing Setboyu Street meets with the coast. The city balcony, which is produced by taking advantage of the elevation difference between Setboyu Street and the open area arrangement on the shore, has social facility functions to be operated in the will of Çanakkale Municipality.
The city park extends northward from the elementary school to the trees and trees. Thus, it integrates with the public facility areas and open areas around the square. The commercial corridor, which maintains continuity along Tuğsavul Street, gains meaning. The mixed block located in front of the public facility areas disrupts the monotonic facade rhythm that extends along the street, customizing in line with the public facility areas.
The building axes have been designed with the acceptance of 8 meters 'Basic Module-Lego', the types of apartments, commercial units, circulation units and facade system has been defined through this axis system. The foreseen modular system is flexible enough to allow changes in the number of flats, except for the apartments allocated to the right holders, to meet the expectations and predictions of the investors.
